Anti-Fraud Policy

Effective date: May 7, 2026

Aviafares takes payment fraud seriously because airline tickets are high-value, highly fungible, and a frequent target of stolen-card abuse. This policy explains how we screen bookings and what happens if one is flagged.

Screening

Every booking runs through automated checks:

  • 3-D Secure (issuer step-up) where the issuer requires it.
  • Address Verification Service (AVS) and CVV match.
  • Risk scoring against device fingerprint, velocity signals, and historical fraud patterns.

Manual review happens when automated signals are ambiguous. A booking-team specialist will call or email the cardholder to verify identity, this is standard industry practice and not a sign that anything is wrong.

Cancellation for suspected fraud

If we believe a booking is fraudulent we will:

  1. Cancel the ticket before airline ticketing, if possible.
  2. Refund the card used, in full, within 5 business days.
  3. Notify the issuer per our agreements with payment processors.

The original passenger(s) named on the PNR may rebook at any time using a card in their own name.

Chargebacks

If you believe a charge on your card is fraudulent, the fastest resolution is to email us first at [email protected] before you call your card issuer. We will provide a full refund or cancel the ticket without dispute if the charge is unauthorized. If you file a chargeback with the issuer first, the airline typically retains the ticket value and we cannot refund additionally.

Reporting suspected fraud

To report a suspected fraudulent booking or a phishing email impersonating Aviafares, contact [email protected] or call our main booking line 24/7.
