Your California Privacy Rights
Effective date: May 7, 2026
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") and the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA") give you specific rights regarding your personal information.
Categories of personal information we collect
Over the past 12 months, Aviafares has collected the following categories of personal information, for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy:
- Identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address)
- Commercial information (bookings, searches, payments)
- Internet/network activity (browsing on our site)
- Geolocation (approximate, from IP, never precise GPS)
- Travel-related information (passport numbers, known-traveler numbers, date of birth) that the airline requires for ticketing
- Inferences about travel preferences based on your searches
We do not sell your personal information
Aviafares does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. The Do Not Sell My Personal Information link is provided in our footer for transparency and as an anchor for opt-outs when they become relevant (e.g. if we later introduce analytics partners that qualify as "sharing" under the CPRA).
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you.
- Delete personal information we have collected, subject to legal retention requirements (bookings must be retained for 7 years for tax and airline-contract reasons).
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of sharing or sale of personal information (not applicable to Aviafares today, see above).
- Non-discrimination, exercising these rights will not cause us to change the price or quality of service you receive.
How to exercise these rights
Email us at [email protected] with the subject "CCPA request" and a brief description of what you'd like us to do. We will verify your identity (usually with the email address on your booking account) and respond within 45 days.
You may also authorize an agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will require written proof of that authorization.
Shine the Light (Civil Code § 1798.83)
California residents who want information about personal information shared with third parties for their direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year may request it by email. As noted above, we do not share personal information for third-party direct marketing.
